Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or
strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing
each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples
build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and
resistance. Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure
of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity
than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality
for those who seek to change the world that yields most painfully to change...Our
future may lie beyond our vision, but it is not completely beyond our control

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in
silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the
ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are
vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain
and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own
career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this
not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and
everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is
perennial as the grass. Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully
surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden
misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of
fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a
right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is
unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive
Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a
beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are
powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We
ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't
serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people
won't feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is
within us. It is not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light
shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.As we are
liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others

Martin Luther King ( From the speech 'I have a dream' )
I have a dream today.I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted,
every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain,
and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be
revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
This is our hope. This is the faith with which I return to the South. With this faith
we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this
faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a
beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work
together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand
up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day
I cannot do everything; but still I can do something; and because I cannot do
everything; I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
